Beyond Glass

In conjunction with the Glass Art Society 41st Annual Conference Gallery Hop, Gallery I|M|A will feature unique glass sculptures from three talented local artists: Bill Baber, Carol Milne, and Michael Marcelo Roco. Bill Baber creates dynamic mixed media sculptures utilizing steel, glass, bronze, and paint that encourages the viewer to reflect with him as he revisits and reexamines the familiar, approaching the past with both expectations and questions. Carol Milne's work is technically complicated and unlike any cast glass work being done today. Her newest series, Pairs, features knitted snocks, made from kiln-cast lead crystal. Michael Marcelo Roco's interactive kinetic sculptures are playful and visually stunning. he strives to define his subject matter, transforming it to promote a parallel between experimentation and creation to establish a close relationship between thought and matter.
