Beth Adams: Many Visions

For over 40 years, Beth Adams has been creating paintings that reflect her daily life in the US and Canada. These acrylic/mixed media statements demonstrate inner landscapes, as well as symbols or reflections of the world in which we live and share, together. The Lyrical Abstractions denote color emphases, calligraphic simplicities, as well as structural connotations. In addition to her work as an exhibiting artist, Beth has taught drawing, painting and art history at Seattle Pacific University and at the University of Washington Experimental College. The former Executive Director of the Kirkland Arts Center, Beth is a partner at Hannigan/Adams Goldsmiths, Carillon Point, Kirkland, Washington.

Graham Fracha: An Introduction

In his newest series of “Dwellings,” Graham Fracha poses the question, “How do we divide the land and mark it as our own?” He explores landscapes through the use of homestead-type structures as an indication of human presence. Mixed media, such as aluminum or copper, have been incorporated in a multi-layered design, creating a fortified barrier. The fences attempt to surround what has become private, while the metal protects what is valued. Flat strokes of color overlap each other and the dwellings underneath, and the land begins to come into focus as it attempts to erase the structures. Graham Fracha was born in Annapolis, MD, in 1974, raised in Tucson, AZ, and came to Seattle, WA to attend Cornish College of the Arts in 1992. Currently, he lives and works in Edmonds, WA. He has exhibited in England, France, New York and throughout the West Coast.
