Jacqueline Rush Lee Bio
Jacqueline Rush Lee's work utilzes books as a sculpting medium to express her ideas.
-"I have scrambled the formal arrangement of the book form and transformed its material and conceptual qualities with an aim to create evocative art forms that suggest a different kind of narrative and a fresh point of view."
-"In my most recent body of work, entitled The Devotion Series, I hand-paint the pages of books with inks and manipulate the form to transform further. In all of these works I use only the pure components of the books such as the pages, covers, inks, book marks and head-bands. Conceptually, I like to think of these works as having been engulfed by the inks of their inner texts."
